One.Tel – Case Study
The Problem
One-Tel manually entered incoming orders into a system built in-house and into the BT online ordering system. This was a costly and time-consuming method for capturing orders.
One-Tel needed to build a layer of automation to resolve these issues. They had not worked with BT Wholesale’s XML interfaces before, therefore delivery timescales and costs were higher than operational budgets would allow.
This necessitated a search for an off the shelf solution, by a company with a track record of delivering similar solutions.
The Solution
minuco’s VBT product was selected, as it was able to create a seamless integration layer that was able to handle large volumes of orders between one.tel and BT Wholesale.
This integration layer provides One.Tel with a full suite of off the shelf interfaces for order placement, order availability and order reporting functionality. The necessary business process to facilitate interaction with supply chain partners has been integrated into the VBT product. It also provides the necessary front-end functionality to allow One.Tel staff and channel partners to feed customer information into the one.tel order management system.
There is now a seamless development path to introduce new off the shelf functionality for fault management and resolution capabilities. These will be new interfaces, which can be added to the One.Tel VBT implementation.
The integration of the minuco solution was achieved quickly and minuco was able to deliver inside 4 weeks.
The Benefits
One.Tel are now able to take advantage of off the shelf functionality and maintenance and there is a clear roadmap for future development of additional functionality. This significantly reduces future risk and free’s up internal development resource.
One.Tel have been able to substantially scale their sales effort and subsequent delivery capability whilst reducing the unit cost of delivery. This would not have been possible without Vigilize’s automation capabilities.
These operational impacts and the speed of implementation allowed One.tel to recoup their investment in the Vigilize product suite within 3 months.
